About the Competition

UCSC seeks to create the first ever Business Plan competition on the campus. This competition aims to connect students and faculty from a variety of disciplines with each other to foster both the generation and pursuit of commercially viable ideas through partnerships. Most importantly, the students will be able to learn from the experiences of each other as well as those of mentors from the faculty as well as members of the Santa Cruz and Silicon Valley business and technology communities, as mentors.

Through the competition, we hope not only to produce quality business ideas but create an experience for students that they will be able to take with them far beyond the classroom and campus. We hope that they will use what they learn to improve their lives as well as to come back and make the business plan competition better for future generations of students.
